She then was a contestant and the winner of the Food Network All Star Academy, Season 2, under the tutelage of Chef Robert Irvine. She now owns a catering and private chef business called Sophisticated Southern Plates, offering custom inspired menus for each individual client.

Chef John Cartel is 28 years old and a native of Jacksonville, Florida. He is a proud graduate of William M. Raines High School. , Chef Cartel attended Merchant Mariner School through the USCG and worked in the Steward Department. He has been cooking for half of his life now, 3 years professional.

He is the CEO and owner of Tutson Catering Company of Jacksonville, Florida. Not only does he provide catering services, but cooking classes, private Chef events, intimate dinners and meal preps. Chef Cartel Brand has been built and designed by catering elite events, weddings, being a celebrity chef and competing in food competitions.

His ambition is to become a world renowned chef and own a chain of restaurants. He plans to start this Spring by opening up a food truck in Jacksonville, “Cartels Kitchen Seafood & More”.

He has been featured in several national and regional publications including television, radio, and internet radio. He’s also enjoys doing public speaking and live cooking demonstrations.
